URGENT INPUTS REQUIRED FOR PREPARATORY ACTION FOR LAUNCH OF
THE INDIA–UNITED KINGDOM FREE TRADE AGREEMENT

Dear Members,
Greetings from CHEMEXCIL!
As you are already aware, the India–UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA) has been signed and is presently undergoing necessary legal procedures in both countries. The Agreement is expected to enter into force shortly (tentatively by end-March / early April 2026).
The Government of India proposes to mark the entry into force of the Agreement as a major national event, showcasing export consignments across sectors and states.
In this regard, CHEMEXCIL is compiling details of export shipments to the UK that may be dispatched around the date of entry into force for coordinated flagging-off and related promotional activities.
Members exporting to or intending to export to the UK are requested to urgently share the details as per the format enclosed herewith.
You are also requested to indicate whether the product currently attracts duty in the UK (if known) Even if your product currently enjoys zero duty access in the UK, you may still share shipment details for participation in the launch-day activities.
Please Note:

Duty benefits under the FTA will be applicable based on the date of entry into force and the relevant customs provisions in the UK.

Exporters planning shipments in the last week of March / first week of April are especially requested to intimate details.

Members facing any technical barriers, documentation challenges, or market access issues in the UK may also highlight the same.
Members are requested to share the above inputs in the enclosed format to ad.del@chemexcil.in with a copy to dg@chemexcil.in, preferably by 5th March 2026, to enable timely consolidation for further communication.
