Request for inputs on Rules of Origins (ROO) and FTAs
|
Dear Sir/Madam,
Greetings from CHEMEXCIL!
We wish to inform that the Ministry of Commerce, Govt. of India is currently evolving a set of Product Specific Rules (PSR) to prepare a template on Rules of Origins (ROO) to be used for future free trade agreements (FTAs) and for this purpose, The Economics division of IIFT, Kolkata is helping to propose PSRs at the HS 6 digit level.
In order to understand the problems faced by your organization in undertaking exports due to the ROOs already implemented in the existing FTAs, you are requested to fill up and send the below.

Fill up and send the attached questionnaire prepared by IIFT.

Mention your preferred ROO against each HS Code (pertaining to your business line) in the attached excel sheet
Further, the terminologies used in the ROOs are evolving rapidly. Hence, these new terminologies that are now being used frequently especially by Developed Countries are listed in the attached document named “New Terms”.
Please let us know whether inclusion of these new mechanisms of ROOs for the HS 6-digit products exported by you is agreed.
You are requested to send us your replies and filled up questionnaire / excel sheet within 7 days’ time i.e. latest by 13th June 2023 for onward communication on the email ids amrita@chemexcil.in with cc to pw@chemexcil.in ; ed@chemexcil.in .
Your replies will help the IIFT to complete this project and assist the Ministry of Commerce in preparation of ROOs.
