Changes in origin declaration for Self-Certification under UK Developing Countries

Trading Scheme (DCTS) - reg.

Dear Sir/Madam,

O/o DGFT has issued a Trade Notice No. 39/2023-24 dated 18th March 2024 on changes in origin declaration for Self-Certification under UK Developing Countries Trading Scheme (DCTS) - reg.

As per this notice, from 19th June 2023, the UK's Generalized Scheme of Preferences (GSP) has been replaced by the Developing Countries Trading Scheme (DCTS).

A transition period has ended on 31st December 2023. In view of this Indian exporters exporting goods to the UK has to follow the new DCTS rules to get reduced import duties in UK.

Accordingly, goods (Products) must meet the UK DCTS Rules of Origin (RoO). And Exporters has to self-certify their goods stating that their goods meet the RoO criteria on the origin declaration. Exporters should not use the origin declaration wording under the GSP scheme.
