Inputs on study “India’s Engagement with LAC countries in
Trade and Investment”- stakeholders’ consultations on
20.4.2018

Dear Members,
We have received communication from FT (LAC) Section, Department of Commerce that in order to strengthen our bilateral trade and investment relations with LAC countries, they have assigned the task of conducting a study on LAC Region to “Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS)”.
The said study will cover several aspects such as macroeconomic stability of the region, liberalisation of tariff and non-tariff barriers, bilateral trade performance, analysis of trade potentials, sensitivities in investment flows, trading in global value chain, performance of selected regional groupings, trade forecasting for LAC in context of India's reaching US$ 5 trillion economies by 2025.
In order to discuss on different dimensions of studies relating to trade, investment and services in LAC region, a stakeholders' meeting will be held under the Chairmship of Shri Shyamal Misra, IAS, Joint Secretary on 20th April, 2018 at 3.00 PM in Conference Room No. 141, Udyog Bhawan, New Delhi.
