Request for Inputs on Issues being faced by Indian Exporters in LAC Countries

Dear Members,
We have received communication from FT (LAC) Division, DoC informing us that they are holding a series of video conference (VC) under the Chairmanship of Shri S. Suresh Kumar, Joint Secretary with Indian Ambassadors in LAC countries.
The objective of holding the above VC was to explore the possibility of expanding the trade by identifying products with high potential and also related issues and measures/ initiatives to be taken up further for tapping the export potential in LAC countries.
During the VC meeting, Indian Ambassador(s) have pointed out that as the countries of LAC region are at long distance and there are issues like high cost, inadequate and non-reliable logistics and other facilities for regular supply of various export items. The following points have arisen out of the interaction:-
Ø Opening up of Direct Shipping lines/ container lines
Ø Opening up of logistic and ware housing facilities
Ø The Possibility of better Credit Facilities in LAC region
Members are requested to examine above points and do send comments. In case of additional issues also, if any, please do let us know with details.
