TBT notification issued by the Environmental Protection Agency

TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE COUNCIL
Dear Sir/ Madam,
Please find attached herewith TBT notification (G/TBT/N/USA/962) dated 9th February 2015 is issued by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) [981], USA. The regulation is with regards to products of chemical industry.
HS Code
The HS Code for the products comes under chapter 28 to 38.
Economic Analysis
Currently India is exporting these products to USA. India’s export to USA is US$ 6581.61 million in the year 2013-14. India’s export to world stood at US$ 35260.93 million. The import of India is stood at US$ 3246.29 million. The import of the world by USA is stood at US$ 36768.61 Million in 2013-14.
India exports these products to USA hence, this approval requirement, if implemented, may significantly impact the registration strategy and timeline for India’s exports of products of chemical industry.
